This fully coded two-entry book made in collaboration with the Béjart Ballet (CH) mimics the strict binary of ballet costumes. Like categorized dressing rooms, it illustrates the gendered codes of ballet that reinforce and perpetuate conventional ideas of masculinity and femininity. However, the further one advances towards the core of the book, the more its codes fade away to arrive at the specific case of the Béjart Ballet, which dares to subvert this power, in a contemporary way. The genders are not considered as two distinct axes that cannot be joined. Indeed, the costumes and makeup free themselves from the conventions of binary genres, to give way to a reflection of the contemporary real world.

Ce livre à deux entrées entièrement codé et réalisé en collaboration avec le Béjart Ballet (Lausanne) imite la stricte binarité des costumes de ballet. Telles des vestiaires catégorisés, il illustre les codes genrés du ballet qui renforcent et perpétuent les idées conventionnelles sur la masculinité et la féminité. Cependant, plus on avance vers le noyau du livre, plus ses codes s’effacent pour arriver au cas précis du Béjart Ballet qui ose subvertir ce pouvoir, d’une manière contemporaine. Les genres n’y sont pas considérés comme deux axes distincts ne pouvant se rejoindre. En effet, les costumes et le maquillage se libèrent des conventions de genres binaires, pour laisser place à un reflet du monde actuel.
